Puppy Development

Chessies are a slow maturing breed. This is a simple guideline on how your Chessie will develop over the next several years. At 2-3 months your pup will weigh approximately 20-30 lbs, 3-4 months 30-40 lbs and so on until about nine months to a year when they usually reach their adult weight, averaging 60-85 lbs. During this time they may go through a leggy gawky stage but don't worry they will continue to fill out until about 3 years of age. 

Keep in mind every dog is different and there is a difference between male and female!
